Uwha: Wai
“Wai” explores the feminine connections to many waters—menstrual blood, urine, breast milk, sexual fluids, and the symbolic waters of lineage. Incorporating Hinemoana to link women and the sea, as well as the narrative of Rona in the reflection of the moon., Encouraging the significance of wahine pūrākau within Te Ao Māori. Through these fluid narratives, I look at the intrinsic ties wahine share with different waters, weaving and honoring both the physical and mythological dimensions of the feminine experience. The ribbon shows various liquids associated with wahine.
